National Cycle-Rail Awards 2008 launched
09 July 2008
Woodhouse Communications has launched the National Cycle-Rail Awards (NCRA) for 2008 on behalf of overall sponsors the Association of Train Operating Companies.

The awards will be held on 24th October 2008 at the Novotel Euston and ATOC is calling for entries from individuals, station and train operators, local authorities and other organisations that are improving the cycle-rail experience.

Michael Roberts, ATOC’s Chief Executive said: “We want to recognise the people, and organisations whose ideas and initiatives are making integrated travel better and we need those who work in the travel industry to help us to do this. We are therefore asking them to ensure colleagues and employers get the thanks and recognition they deserve by submitting an entry to this year’s Awards.”

There are six categories for which the judges are seeking nominations:
· People Award - for outstanding individuals making a significant contribution beyond the call of duty to enhancing cycle rail integration
· Station of the Year
· Pindar Graphics Customer Service Excellence Award
· Train Operating Company of the Year
· Cycling England Best Local Government Contribution
· Most Innovative Approach to Cycle-Rail Integration

Nominations and entries can be completed online, before the closing date of Friday 5 September 2008.

Woodhouse is organising the NCRA for the fifth consecutive year. ATOC have been the Awards’ overall sponsors for the past four years. During that time, dozens of individuals, companies and local authorities have been rewarded for playing their part in improving the cycle-rail experience.

Cycling organisations the Cycle Touring Club (CTC), Sustrans and Cycling England also support the awards.
