PR agency celebrates a decade of promoting the UK’s rail industry
Rail PR agency Woodhouse Communications have celebrated 10 years of business in style this week, with the renewal of a major client contract.
The transport communications agency, who have helped promote the UK railways for over a decade by creating PR campaigns for TOCs, freight operators and rail suppliers, have successfully negotiated an extension on their contract with the UK’s largest rail wagon leasers VTG.
Husband and wife team Paul and Kim Lawson, who both have considerable rail communications experience, decided to go it alone in 1998 when they launched Woodhouse Communications. Since that time the company has gone from strength to strength, successfully winning new business from a raft of companies within the rail industry.
Paul Lawson, managing partner at Woodhouse Communications commented: “We are delighted to be able to celebrate ten highly successful years for our business with the retention of one of our biggest clients. Both myself and Kim both have over 15 years experience of working in railway press offices and it was always our hope, with the creation of Woodhouse, to combine our considerable knowledge of the UK’s railways to create a specialist PR agency to help companies who worked in the industry to raise their profile. We also wanted to, through our work, help readdress the balance of largely negative reports of the rail industry in the press with campaigns that help to communicate the ‘good news’.
“We hope to continue to expand over the next few years and carry on promoting the good work and successes of railway organisations to a much wider audience.”
The agency, which is currently expanding to include a specialist design arm offers a
wide range of services. Paul said: “Since Woodhouse was started we have expanded our operations to include all aspects of communication, from media relations to event management, design and publications, taking on talented members to provide the rail industry with highly skilled professionals at a very competitive price.”
